    ACCIDENT CLAIMS

The following is a summary of the main categories of accident claims:

    • Car and motorcycle accidents
    • Fatal accidents
    • Injuries at work
    • Slip and fall cases
    • Accidents on public or private property
    • Liability for defective products

HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE?

You must bring your claim for compensation within 2 years of the date of your injury. If you do not do so within that time period your claim will be barred. There are some exceptions to this rule but in general the two year time limit applies.

It is important to get advice from your solicitor as soon as possible after an accident. If you delay, essential evidence can be lost or destroyed or it may prove difficult or impossible to collect details of the identity of crucial witnesses. It is also preferable to take statements from witnesses while their memories are fresh.

    MUST I ATTEND COURT?

The great majority of accident cases are settled out of Court. Many are settled on the Court steps, so while you may have to attend Court it is unlikely that you will have to give evidence.

    CAR AND MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENTS

Every year about nine hundred people are seriously injured on Irish roads. More than seven thousand people will receive less serious injuries and approximately four hundred people will be fatally injured. The compensation system in Ireland is based on fault. If you have been injured and someone else is wholly or partly to blame you are entitled to receive compensation.

You may discuss the circumstances of your accident with us without obligation and we will give you clear and practical advice in plain language.

Please call us at 065-6820620 or fill out an on line enquiry form.

    WORK ACCIDENTS

Your employer is legally obliged to ensure that your health and safety in the work place is paramount. Despite this, accidents at work continue to be commonplace. Every year approximately ten thousand employees successfully bring claims for compensation against their employers. Typical injuries in the workplace include lifting and carrying weights which are too heavy, hand injuries caused by unsafe machinery and slip and fall injuries caused by unsafe floors or other surfaces.

    ACCIDENTS IN PUBLIC PLACES

These types of accidents usually occur as a result of slipping and falling on badly constructed roads or footpaths or unsafe floors in shops and supermarkets
